Communication safety

No secret or uncontrolled child contact.

Barnabut is a guided learning space, not a social network. Approved missions and teacher-connected classrooms are allowed; unknown-adult private chat is blocked. And a child always has a simple ‘Something feels wrong’ action.

What the child experiences

  • Talks only inside approved missions and their real classroom
  • Can never be privately contacted by an unknown adult
  • Has a clear, friendly way to say ‘Something feels wrong’

What the parent controls

  • Sees which connections (like a teacher) are active
  • Knows there is no open chat or stranger contact
  • Is notified when a child raises a concern

How the system works

Three situations, three outcomes: an approved guided mission is allowed, a teacher-connected classroom is allowed and visible, and an unknown private chat request is blocked. There is no open child-to-child or child-to-stranger messaging. If a child feels uneasy, one action runs a safe sequence: stop, reassure, preserve context, notify an authorised adult and create a visible record.

When something goes wrong

If an unknown adult attempts contact, it is blocked before it reaches the child. If a child triggers ‘Something feels wrong’, the interaction stops, the child is reassured, context is preserved, an authorised adult is notified and a visible safety record is created.

What the family can inspect

  • Which connections and classrooms are active for your child
  • That no open or stranger messaging exists
  • Any safety record a child’s concern created

Frequently asked

No. There is no open messaging. Contact is limited to approved missions and the child’s real, teacher-connected classroom.

It stops the interaction, reassures the child, preserves context, notifies an authorised adult and creates a visible safety record — all from one child-friendly action.

Yes. An authorised adult is notified and a visible record is created, so nothing stays secret.
