The learning journey

One journey — from first questions to governing AI.

Barnabut grows with every child. At first it stays close, guiding every question — then it becomes a coach, an adviser, and finally a thinking partner. The goal isn't a child who needs Barnabut forever, but a young person who can question, evaluate and govern AI on their own.

What your child learns

The same journey, four ages.
As they grow, AI steps back — and they step up.

Watch the relationship change: AI begins as a guide holding their hand, and ends as a peer they direct. Pick an age — or press play — to see what your child can do, and how independent they become.

By 14–15 they don’t just use AI — they question it, direct it, and stay human in charge. Every age lands the same instincts, adapted to how your child learns — and you see each one in your parent dashboard as it happens.

The parent view

A window into your child’s thinking. Not a report card.

This is the real parent dashboard. Switch between your children, move through the weeks, replay a mission, inspect a safety moment, approve a new world — and watch Barnabut grow quieter as your child grows stronger.

Screen time

The part that matters happens with the screen off.

Barnabut is not somewhere your child goes to live. It is a short lesson, a challenge they do with their hands, and a conversation with you. There is no reason to open it every day — and we have not built anything to make them want to.

On the screen

One short lesson

Your child works through a single guided mission with their character. It ends. There is no feed underneath it and nothing plays next.

No open chat. No ads. No autoplay.
Off the screen

A Spark Kit on the table

Every course comes with physical cards, tools and builds that turn the lesson into something your child makes with their hands — away from any device.

With you

One thing to talk about

Each lesson gives you a single plain-language talking point in your dashboard. The lesson is designed to finish at your kitchen table, not in the app.

No jargon. No wall of numbers.

What Barnabut does not have

Most children’s software is paid to keep your child inside it. We are paid when your child finishes a course — so none of this exists in the product, and none of it is on the roadmap.

  • NoDaily streaks
  • NoLogin rewards
  • NoPoints for time spent
  • NoAutoplay or “up next”
  • NoNotifications to your child
  • NoAds, ever

The number we care about goes down, not up. Your dashboard tracks how many prompts your child still needs from Barnabut each week — and the whole system is designed to drive that toward zero. We do not report time spent, because we are not trying to grow it.
